After that terrible year 2020 provided everyone, you deserve a vacation getaway to help bring in the new year. La Jolla is your premier destination for exciting events and enjoyable activities throughout your stay. Take a look at how you can bring in New Years in La Jolla:

New Year’s in La Jolla Events

While most large events have been cancelled for the remainder of the year, you can still catch some New Year’s events when you visit La Jolla. One of the best ways to have a party while avoiding giant crowds is by reserving a New Year’s Eve charter out onto the water. Spirit of San Diego Yacht and California Spirit Yacht are both hosting a moonlight New Year’s Eve cruise. You will have access to a variety of foods, drinks, live music, a dance floor, and so much more. Tickets start at $109 a person and lets you join the party at 9:00 PM. Don’t miss out on these yacht parties exclusive to the area!

Walk the Shoreline

The temperature in La Jolla during the winter is quite comfortable, especially for those traveling from the Northwest or Midwest. Expect temperatures to be in the 60s, allowing you to enjoy a walk along the beach—properly dressed, of course! The beaches in La Jolla are more secluded than the rest of San Diego and less busy, so you can find plenty of space. We recommend checking out La Jolla Cove where you are surrounded by beautiful cliffs and may even catch a glimpse of the local seals!

Head Over to Balboa Park

While most New Year’s Eve events are cancelled for the year, you can still find plenty of activities to enjoy when you take a short drive to Balboa Park. This is where you can find the world-famous San Diego Zoo with their exotic animals and interactive exhibits. The rest of Balboa Park features huge museums, restaurants, and plenty of areas to enjoy the cool temperatures outside. Definitely don’t pass up on a trip to Balboa Park; your kids will love you for it!

La Jolla Is Calling

As you can see, La Jolla has plenty to offer you for the upcoming New Year’s Eve holiday. You deserve to end 2020 with a bang so get to planning. Reserve one of our exclusive rental properties today to have luxury amenities and be within steps of the beautiful La Jolla shoreline.

Our Southern California home is the perfect place to spend your Christmas at with several holiday activities and plenty of waterside fun. Take a look at what Christmas in La Jolla can look like:

Little Italy is one neighborhood that goes all out with gigantic displays of festivity and Christmas lights. The La Jolla Christmas Tree can also be found here. This year the Christmas Tree in Little Italy will be lit up on December 1st. Stop by the tree lighting ceremony for festive décor, live music, and of course Santa Claus. The Christmas Tree and holiday light displays will be up for the entire holiday season, so stop by and see them in person!

Coronado Holiday Parade

Another way to enjoy holiday displays while maintaining social distancing is by checking out the Coronado Holiday Parade. This parade is unique as it is a boat parade that takes place on the water! See boats put on their best show of holiday lights and décor as they parade on by. Carolers will be on hand along with other exciting activities. This year’s Coronado Holiday Parade is scheduled to take place on December 7th.
