The aquarium is a part of the Scripps Institution of Oceanography at UC San Diego. Special events are held throughout the year at the aquarium too such as unique lectures, conversation classes, and even private events. The Birch Aquarium is open for extended summer hours from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM daily. The aquarium currently requires reservations for future visits and facial coverings must be worn inside.

When it comes to some of the best live performances in La Jolla you cannot pass up the chance to visit the La Jolla Play House. This live theatre is the perfect spot to enjoy a live performance on a rainy day or any day for that matter.
