If you plan on visiting La Jolla for some fun in the sun, don’t forget to carve out some space on your itinerary for the numerous festivals going on this year. Festivals are always a great way to get out and experience something new while also meeting new people. The following are some upcoming San Diego festivals that you should consider checking out while visiting La Jolla.
San Diego Restaurant Week, Jan 20-27, 2019
If you love food, San Diego Restaurant Week is the place to be. Come see what 180 restaurants have to offer over eight days of culinary tastings and delights. This is the perfect way to truly learn more about the La Jolla/San Diego food scene. All of the participating restaurants offer special pricing on their lunch and dinner entrees. No passes or tickets are needed for this event. You just visit one of the participating restaurants to enjoy prix fixe menus. So, if you’ve been wanting to try out a couple of restaurants in the area, this is the perfect avenue to do so.
Sun God Festival, Spring 2019
Each spring season since 1983, the University of California at San Diego hosts the Sun God Festival, which is simply an annual music and arts festival that is put together by the students at UC San Diego. This festival includes appearances by national touring artists, an eclectic showcase or art, brand sponsorships and tons of food vendors. Held in RIMAC Field, the Sun God Festival offers a shot of something fun and exciting to experience in San Diego/La Jolla. It’s definitely one of the best upcoming San Diego festivals to visit!
La Jolla Art & Wine Festival, October 12 & 13, 2019
Enjoy art and wine while supporting underfunded programs at local public schools when you visit the La Jolla Art & Wine Festival. This two-day event is now in its 10th year, and it continues to feature over 150 artists from all over the United States and Mexico. Here you’ll experience art through a variety of mediums such as ceramics, painting, jewelry, woodwork and much more. Enjoy the silent auction, and if you are bringing children along, be sure to stop by the Geppetto’s Family Art Center & Lab for tons of hands-on art experiments and demos. For the wine lovers, a visit to the Wine & Beer Garden to experience the goods from the international wineries and local and national breweries is a must.
